Overview

Lowworth was founded durring the late 15th century in fall of the year 1389, by Vrungurk Sparrow Monaghan Carroll. The establishment of Lowworth was somewhat plagued by a lack of willing colonists, leading to Vrungurk Sparrow Monaghan Carroll electing to pay people to resettle in Lowworth.

Lowworth was built using the conventions of Sylvin durring the late 15th century. Naturaly, all settlmentss have their own look to them, and Lowworth is no diffrent. The town's buildings feature timber framed wooden shiethed or brick construction, which gives form to a very formalized, rational, expence effishent arcatectural style based on strictly symmetrical designs which universaly feature pitched roofs, shutters, and the occasional column or pilaster for a decorative touch.

Lowworth is buildings are arranged within a network of restrictive carved bedrock streets which form a rectangular grid, where each block verries in size given the proximity of the paralell streets forming each section. The ocasional smaller block has been used to construct a park, plaza, and other communal structures. The town is protected by a humble stone fence which is tall enough to provide adiquite cover for defenders to fire from, but no more than that. Astonishigly, the peasent-grade are in pristine condishion, as if they had just been finished before you laied eyes upon them.

Lowworth has the unmistakable air of a town on its last legs. Everything is a bit slipshod and ramshackle. Everyone is at work, or drinking. No one has anything in their eyes other than fear and despair. Whatever industry once fueled Lowworth ’s existence has dried up and the town is drifting down the stream of history as it dries up. Even with that as it is, everything is just a little too worn down, a little too dirty, or much of both. The town should be gone, not dying. No one makes eye contact. Kids play quietly, but happily. Occasionally a passerby glances at you out of the corner of their eye, staring just long enough for it to be uncomfortable.

Civic Infrastructure

Lowworth has an Office of Civil Vicary, which is responsible for providing a livelyhood for all officialy recognised religious figures within Lowworth.

Lowworth has a Gravedigger's Guild, which is responsible for collecting the dead and laying them to rest according to all applicable laws and religious customs.

Lowworth has a Highwayman's Guild, which is tasked with maintaining the roads and highways leading into town as well as keeping them safe for travelers.

Lowworth has a monistary of an order of Civil Monks, who provide divine-related services to the general public and maintain Lowworth's public wards, blessings, and other arcane systems.

Lowworth possesses an older civil lighting system consisting of street lamps. These lights provide nighttime illumination to most city streets.

Lowworth has a Parks and Recreation Department, which is responsible for the construction, management, and usage rights for all of its parks and parklands.

Lowworth has a public schooling program overseen by the Hall of Sages who has the responsibility of ensuring access to affordable high-quality education in all basic classes (Reading, Writing, Mathmatics, General Sciences, General Arcana, and Social Education) is made available to all citizens.

Cultural Notes

Religious leaders are influential in almost any community, but in Lowworth they make up the final authorities. It may be an explicit theocracy, with rule by the clerics of a particular faith, or a temple might be so important and powerful that the official leaders are helpless to resist its will. The locals can be expected to be loyal adherents to the faith, or else the less pious majority is deeply intimidated by the religion’s believers.

Lowworth's chapel was built using a different architectural style from the rest of the town. The style used is best known for the combined use of arcuated and trabeated construction, employing arches and constructed with post and lintel. The arch served as the style's chief structural element, with flanking columns serving as buttresses or decorations. While the general shape of their structures could be generously described as simplistic, the use of these arches and columns created a most distinct ascetic which is easily distinguishable on sight to armatures and experts alike.

In Lowworth every night at precisely midnight every structure in town is engulfed by sailors fire until the end of the witching hour.

The Squirrel near Lowworth are known to be almost tame, such that they can be put to domestic use.

Lowworth's citizens partake in a curious ritual relating to their local kami. It takes place in autumn and involves gestures to channel Abjuration energies of tier 3 via speaking in tongues.
